Job Description


We are seeking Welder for a client in St Mary's, NSW for their Sheetmetal manufacturing factory. This job is long term leading to full time after hired few months in casual position.


PAY RATE: $35 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation.

Timing : Monday to Thursday 6am to 2:30pm and Friday 6am to 12pm.


Our Client:

As a welder, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication of high-quality metal products. Your responsibilities will involve working with various materials such as carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to meet the specific needs of our diverse customer base, including those in the mining, railway, industrial, and commercial sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and more. Follow technical drawings and Australian Standards (e.g., AS1657 for handrails, stairs).
  • Quality Control: Ensure welds meet required standards, perform inspections, and use testing tools.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, wear PPE, and maintain a safe workspace.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with other welders, boilermakers, and engineers to complete projects.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Use and maintain welding machines, grinders, and other tools.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous welding and fabrication experience.
  • Certifications: Qualified to AS/NZS3992, AS/NZS 1554.1 & 6, or AWSD 1.1 & 6 (or willing to obtain).
  • Physical: Ability to handle heavy materials and work in a physically demanding role.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Always wear appropriate PPE (gloves, helmet, eye protection).
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a healthy workplace


Work Environment & Workflow:

  • Projects: Handle major and smaller projects, including fabrication of structural components.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with external partners for additional services like cutting, galvanizing, and painting.


Performance Goals (KPIs):

  • Quality: Ensure welds meet industry standards with minimal defects.
  • Efficiency: Complete tasks on time while maintaining quality.
  • Safety: Follow safety procedures to avoid injuries.


Tools & Equipment:

  • Welding Machines: MIG, TIG, Stick welders.
  • Material Handling: Cranes, hoists for lifting heavy materials.
  • PPE: Helmets, gloves, protective clothing.


Reporting & Communication:

  • Communicate project issues with the supervisor and report safety hazards immediately.
